Football kicks off for 2023

Football returns this weekend as the Football Far North Coast competitions kick off across the region.



Senior and Junior competitive competitions are all set to commence this weekend, with junior non-competitive matches to start after the school holidays.


Men's Premier League take to the field on Saturday when Bangalow FC host Alstonville FC, in what will be an exciting encounter, with both sides also moving through to Round 6 of the Australia Cup.


Both teams will be a force in this year's Men's Premier League after strong off season recruitment and good pre season form.


The match will kick off at 3:00pm at Jeff Schneider Field in Bangalow.



The Goonellabah Hornets will play host to Mullumbimby Brunswick Valley FC at Weston Park on Saturday at 3:00pm. The Hornets have been working hard in the off season and with a new coaching team, will look to strike early.


Sunday will see Richmond Rovers travel to Byron Bay in what should be a close encounter starting at 2:30pm and Maclean will play host to Lennox Head. South Lismore have the Round 1 bye.


In Men's Championship matches, Bangalow play MBVFC and Goonellabah host Richmond Rovers at 1:00pm on Saturday.



On Sunday Byron Bay host Nimbin (12:30pm), Maclean take on Ballina (12:30pm) and Lismore Thistles play Alstonville at 2:30pm.


Women's Premier League Football also commences this weekend with Sunday matches for Lennox Head who play Maclean, and Bangalow host Alstonville at 2:30pm.
