Football FNC is getting back on track after a long period of wet weather disrupted the season.
FFNC has now rescheduled all (except three) of the fixtures that were washed out recently (between 28th June and 6th July) and these are now published to the FFNC website.
Organisers have been forced to schedule some mid-week fixtures across many competitions scheduled each week for the balance of the pointscore season.
FFNC has almost zero wriggle room to re-schedule any fixtures if wet conditions further impede the season.
A disclosure has been made that FFNC will (if necessary) make a decision to 'declare' a result, of any fixture that cannot be played from this point forward. We certainly hope that this situation will not be necessary, but this possibility is made known in this communication, so there should be no surprises at a later time.
As advised several weeks back to all clubs, a modified Finals Series will proceed this season, with a format in all junior competitions and all senior leagues, being semi-finals Team 1 v Team 4, and Team 2 v Team 3, with the winner of each semi-final to contest the Newcastle Permanent Grand Finals Series in respective competitions.
FFNC can now announce that Lismore City Council has given approval for FFNC to have access to Oakes Oval Lismore as listed below;
Based on FFNC's proposed dates:
Friday 29 – Sunday 31 August
Friday 5 – Sunday 7 September
Friday 12 – Sunday 14 September
With the exception of Sunday 31 August, which remains to be confirmed pending whether two senior teams in the Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League (NRRRL) competition become mathematically unable to host finals, based on their ladder positions.
LCC acknowledges that FFNC brought its finals series forward in response to working collaboratively with LCC as a range of stakeholders have sought to secure access of Oakes Oval and/or Crozier Field, as the two marquee sporting venues in the region.
Football FNC also highlight the scheduling of the three Anzac Day Cup Finals (being Open A, Open B and Open C), that were washed out on 26th April. These are now scheduled as follows;
Open C Open B Open A
