Four Far North Coast (FNC) baseballers will take part in the 2026 Australian Youth Baseball Championships early next month.
Connor McCarthy and Kieren Weekes will represent NSW Country in the U/18 tournament, and Corey Daniels and Charlie Davis will represent NSW Country in the U/16 division.
The U/16 and U/18 championships will be held from 7-15 January and will be hosted by the Essendon, Preston and Port Melbourne Baseball Clubs in Victoria.
McCarthy and Weekes play for Norths, Daniels suits up for Lismore Workers and Davis, East Redbirds in the local FNC Baseball competition.
In addition to the NSW Country teams, there will be teams from Western Australia, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, NSW and the ACT competing across the nine days.
The U/16's will kick off their campaign against the ACT Roo's at 9:00am on 7 January and the U/18's will take on their first opponents, South Australia on 9 January at 11:45am.
Both teams will play six games across the first four days of the tournament before progressing to finals on the final three days.
They will play for state pride and in front of more than 15 Major League Baseball club scouts and colleges from across the USA.
