Lismore Base Hospital saw fire emergency crews arrive last night in response to a fire alarm in the hospital’s carpark.
Concerned local residents reported seeing the fire trucks and a TV camera crew, but hospital staff have clarified that it was just a false alarm.
Lismore Base Hospital general manager Ian Hatton said “a break glass fire alarm was activated in the hospital carpark on Thursday night”.
“A fire crew attended but did not find any evidence of a fire,” he said.
“It appears the alarm was activated in error.”
