Police have said that this afternoon's motorcycle crash north of Kyogle was a fatality.

About 2pm (Sunday 24 August 2025), emergency services were called to Summerland Way at The Risk, north of Kyogle, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Richmond Police District arrived to find a motorcycle had crashed into a guardrail.

The rider – a man believed to be aged in his 40s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formerly identified.

Police have established a crime scene, and an investigation into the incident has commenced.

Summerland Way was closed in both directions for around two hours.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
