Families flocked to Hepburn Park in Goonellabah this morning for a bit of Easter fun at the Lismore CWA Easter Egg Hunt.
There was a little drizzle but most of the day was under clearing skies as families from all over Lismore spent an hour or two forgetting about the flood recovery and watching their kids have fun with sack races, egg and spoon races, a jumping castle and the hunt itself which was perfectly planned.
The taped off area was littered with five different coloured bottle caps that kids had to collect in various forms to then swap for Easter eggs. The hunt was split into three groups, pre-school, primary school and high school to allow everyone to participate and not just one run but an ongoing series as families came and went over the time.
Parents were not forgotten with a coffee van and CASPA cooking up a storm with a sausage sizzle for everyone.
As well as sharing in 14,000 Easter Eggs from Coles and Woolies including gluten-free eggs, there were soccer, rugby and netball shirts and footballs given away.

A huge congratulations to the ladies of the Lismore CWA branch for putting on the event and running it so well.
The event runs until 12 midday at Hepburn Park, Goonellabah.
