South Lismore Celtics FC have had the toughest week they can remember.
The passing of Life Member and former Coach Cameron Hyde during the week broke the hearts of many, but it was his determination that spurred the Celtics to victory in the 2021 ANZAC Day Cup Final against Byron Bay FC.
Hyde was instrumental in the resurgence of the South Lismore Club and his loss has hit hard.
Hyde's parents Rod and Christine, wife Tara and daughter Lennie were all present and played a part in the pre and post match formalities.

When the game got underway, it was evident that the Celtics had everything to play for.
South had the early possession and territory advantage, with several shots on target.
The best of the early opportunities came from a flurry of corners, forcing the Byron defence and keeper to work hard.
In the 30th minute, a Bodhi Estreich header broke the deadlock to put the home side up 1-0. Estreich, the Celtics Captain, had stepped up from defence for the attacking corner.

The Celtics continued the attack with several opportunities late in the half and went to the break in front 1-0.
Just two minutes into the second half, a Murray Towner header after a goal mouth scramble, put the South Lismore side up 2-0.
The Byron side slowly began to wrestle back possession and had several attempts denied by South Lismore keeper Luke Condon, who had a strong match.
A counter attack from the Celtics saw Towner go one-on-one with the Byron keeper, knocking in the home sides 3rd goal for the match.

Fourteen minutes later, a penalty to Byron saw them convert, for a 3-1 scoreline which was the final scoreline.
South Lismore Coach Rick Austen said it was an emotional day in an even more emotional week.

"It has been a tough week for everyone involved in the club."
"I was really proud of the boys today, we forced turnovers in good attacking positions."
"We played really well in the first half, I was happy with how we were going. We probably could have had another goal or two."
The emotion was visible as the final whistle sounded, with tears flowing throughout a heart felt and fitting presentation.
Football Far North Coast General Manager Steve Mackney presented the Player of the Match to Harrison Armstrong and Captain Bodhi Estreich with the ANZAC Day Cup Trophy.
The emotional presentation was made all the more significant when Hyde's family were presented with a winning medal in Cameron's memory and then had the honour of presenting the team with their winning medallions.
Cameron Hyde will be laid to rest on Wednesday. RIP Cameron Hyde.
