Smoke from a car fire disrupted traffic in a Goonellabah street this afternoon.

A NSW Fire and Rescue spokesperson said one pump responded to a report of a car fire in Dudley Drive about 4:05pm.

When the crews arrived shortly afterwards the driver was out of the Mazda car and uninjured.

"They required the police because the smoke was blocking the intersection of Oliver Avenue and Dudley Drive," the spokesperson said.

"It was extinguished at around 4.25pm."
