The Lismore City Council monthly meeting will be full of Development Applications (DA's) decisions, more writing of letters to government officials, the adoption of the Outdoor Dining policy and will our Mayor and Councillors get a wage increase.
The Eastwood Estate on Invercauld Road DA will be discussed once again after the Rescission Motion was deferred to this meeting after the extraordinary meeting on June 23 so councillors could gather more information.
The controversial DA was voted down 7/4 at the June ordinary monthly meeting due to a koala breeding corridor deemed to be too close to infrastructure works. Council staff were split when they recommended the DA be approved under certain conditions while the council ecologist was concerned about the 'net loss' of koalas in the area.
There is a DA for 19 residential lots to be created at Northcott Drive, Goonellabah.
Currently, the end of Northcott Drive is a cul-de-sac. There were 16 public submissions while on display, all against the DA proposal, we will discover how many of those live on Northcott Drive tomorrow night.
Interestingly, council staff have said in the report, "The proposed subdivision provides additional flood-free residential lots for the city, which is timely and strongly in the public interest following the recent devastating flooding."
Watch for those councillors against the proposal to use the term "not in the public interest" due to the 16 submissions.
There are five parcels of vacant land the General Manager is proposing for reclassification and rezoning from Local Parks to Residential to generate funding for upgrades to existing recreational assets.

The land value is expected to receive $1,920,000 to $2,055,000 to be used for the Council Pocket Park Fund.
The Pocket Park Fund would continue to be used as co-contribution for grants for future open space projects within our major parks including:
The Councillor and Mayoral fee increase would impact the 2022/23 budget by $8,700 if adopted. This would be in line with the new maximum fees recently announced by the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal.
The last time council voted on a pay issue, councillors voted to give themselves the maximum amount.
The Lismore City Council meeting is held a the council chambers in Goonellabah at 6pm tomorrow night. You can attend the meeting or watch it live via live stream via council's website or Facebook page.
