Dirawongs host Bombers in must win clash

The Northern United Dirawongs will host a must win clash against the Evans Head Bombers in the NRRRL on Sunday.

The clash is a Round 5 match that was postponed due to wet weather earlier in the season, and now sees two of the top sides clash prior to finals.

The Dirawongs have recently moved into sixth position, after a 32-16 victory over Casino last weekend.

They currently hold the last Finals position over Mullumbimby with a superior For and Against to the Giants.

Victory on Sunday will assure United of a finals spot.

The Giants face second placed Cudgen on Sunday, in a tough assignment to put pressure on United.

Evans Head are coming off a narrow 18-14 win over Bilambil last weekend and currently sit in third spot on the ladder.

In big news for the home side, star fullback Hezekiah McKenzie has been named to return after several weeks out with injury.

The First Grade match will kick off at Crozier Oval at the later time of 3:45pm, due to referee shortages in the region.

This now means that Women's Tackle will start at 12:50pm and Reserve Grade take to the field at 2:15pm.

Marist Brothers have a bye and will watch from the sidelines as they await their final ladder position.
