Detectives arrest wanted man in West Ballina on 36 alleged offences

A man will face court today charged with 36 offences following a police operation in the state's north.

The man was wanted in relation to several incidents alleged to have occurred in the Ballina and Mullumbimby areas between October 2025 and December 2025.

Officers attached to Richmond Police District and Tweed-Byron Police District conducted a number of operations to locate the man, including one where a police vehicle was allegedly rammed.

In November 2025, Rural Crime Investigators established Operation Philvor to investigate linked offences and locate the man.

Following extensive inquiries, police surrounded a home on Westland Place, West Ballina, about 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 December 2025).

The 23-year-old man was arrested when allegedly trying to leave.

He was taken to Ballina Police Station where a total of seven outstanding warrants were executed for 36 alleged offences.

The charges relate to an alleged assault and several alleged property and traffic offences.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 today (Thursday 11 December 2025).
