NNSWLHD chief executive Wayne Jones said the new Lismore case is a household contact of an existing case.

The other two new cases are in the Tweed LGA and are currently under investigation.

There have now been 187 cases in the District since 16 June.

Mr Jones said Northern NSW Local Health District continues to urge people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and to seek testing immediately if symptoms develop.

“Even if you are fully vaccinated you should get tested and isolate immediately if you have even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms – such as a slightly runny nose, a scratchy or sore throat or generally feeling under the weather,” he said.

NSW recorded 216 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
