Council reopens Community Recycling Centre for problem waste

The Community Recycling Centre (CRC), where residents can drop off household problem waste free of charge, has reopened at the Lismore Recycling & Recovery Centre on Wyrallah Road, East Lismore.

This service had to pause in late February due to a major fire at the collection contractor’s facility.

The following items can be dropped off once again:

  • Batteries (including embedded battery products like vapes)
  • Light globes
  • Oils
  • Gas cylinders & fire extinguishers
  • Aerosols
  • Smoke detectors
  • Paints

The Community Recycling Station drop-off cabinets (pictured) at Council’s Corporate Centre, Lismore Library, and Nimbin Transfer Station are also collecting items again.
