Council patches up flood affected roads before ChristmasDamage done to the Dunoon Road post flood. This is one of many roads that have been fixed since Thursday.

While the full cost and extent of the damage from last weeks floods is yet to be fully assessed, it is estimated the damage to Lismore's road network and city infrastructure is expected to be in excess of $15 million.

The longer term damage assessments and permanent repairs will commence in early January but in the next few days before Christmas council workers are trying to fix as many damaged roads and potholes as possible before the Christmas break.

A LCC spokesperson said "Crews are working to repair access and do temporary works to ensure resident access on all roads prior to Christmas."

Council will need to assess the full extent of damage across the Lismore Local Government Area in order to make a formal application for funding under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

If you have some large potholes near your place, let council know today so they can put it on their long list.

Matt Mauger from Northern Rivers Advertising sent the Lismore App some photos from last Wednesday's flood. They include some impressive drone aerial photos so well worth checking out:
