Council moves to make Eat the Street safer

As Lismore becomes the first place in regional Australia to report a coronavirus-related incident, the City Council is taking extra precautions to make this weekend’s Eat the Street Food Festival a safe and enjoyable experience for all involved.

Working closely with health authorities, the council is actively promoting the practice of good health and hygiene measures at all times.

As well as spruiking key public health and hygiene messages, the Council is providing additional hand-wash stations at Eat the Street and making hand sanitiser freely available across the event precinct.

Meanwhile, it is encouraging festival-goers to:

  • Maintain a good level of hygiene (hand-washing, covering coughs/sneezes)
  • Bring their own hand sanitiser/hand washing products and use them regularly
  • Do not attend the event if they are unwell
  • Report any cases of fever, coughing or other flu-like symptoms immediately to their doctor
  • Visit First-Aid if they have any health concerns at the event.
