The coronavirus updates appeared more important when the numbers were climbing to keep you informed of where we, as a community sat.

However, it is important to celebrate the milestones that come away during these times.

So, in the 24 hours to 6pm yesterday there were not only 0 cases in Lismore (confirmed case count is still at 5) but 0 confirmed cases for the Northern NSW Local Health District which includes Tweed, Byron and Ballina.

This is confirmation that what the Stay At Home Stay Healthy campaign is working.

It doesn't mean that life will return to normal next week but it does give us all hope that restrictions will ease in the coming weeks and life can slowly return to some sort of normalcy.

For now, we all deserve a pat on the back Lismore.
