Coronavirus - Friday update

As we head into the weekend, I can tell you that Lismore remains at 5 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

While the world has ballooned over the 1,000,000 cases mark with over 53,000 dead, Australia sits at 5,315 cases with 26 deaths and NSW 2,389 cases and 12 deaths.

As the number of confirmed cases in the North Coast Local Health District increased from 37 to 45 this week, Lismore's zero increase was welcome news.

Out of those five cases the locally acquired with an unknown source of infection remains in the 1-4 range.

With Easter and school holidays coming up, there was a message from the Richmond District Police's facebook page to 'Stay At Home".

The message read,

"Please stay home over the holidays. School holidays are nearly here, and many of you will be keen to get out of town to relax in one of our beautiful regional communities. While we understand that everyone needs a break, the current COVID -19 situation means that the best thing you can do for our regions, and for yourselves, is to stay at home. We all need to work together to stop the spread".

A reminder that Daylight Savings finishes this weekend so don't forget to turn your clocks back an hour before you go to bed or when you wake up on Sunday morning.
