'Come here’: Lismore police investigating child approach

Lismore police are investigating after a Wyrallah Road Public School student was approached by a man in East Lismore on Wednesday morning.


The school issued a warning in a Facebook post to be “aware and alert”.


“A Year 5 child was approached by an unknown Caucasian male with short brown hair and a short brown beard on Neilson Street between Walker and Elizabeth Sts in East Lismore,” the school said in the post.


“He was wearing a grey shirt and asked her to ‘come here’.”


“She came directly to school.


“This has been reported to the police and school incident report line.”


A Department of Education spokesperson said the school did not wish not make any further comment.
