After a delay of a week, ironically, due to wet weather, the FFNC competitions started this week and several clubhouses were reopened after vast renovations.

The renovations were due to the devastating floods that hit the North Coast in 2022.

The Lismore Workers Soccer Club is one of the clubs to return to their home ground this week.

Club President Nadine Toniello was thrilled to be able to welcome people back to Richards Oval, after the completion of works to create new facilities, two years after floodwater that went above the roof of the clubhouse and destroyed everything, including memorabilia.

The “Redmen” now begin the path back to its former greatness as a powerhouse club in Football Far North Coast.

The club thanked it's many stakeholders, particularly Lismore City Council staff and Councillors and the wonderful Lismore and broader football community who have generously and stoically stood united through and beyond the tough times over the past two years

The Casino RSM Cobras FC were also the recipients of clubhouse upgrades, with the new opening this weekend.

The new facilities at Colley Park Casino includes four change rooms, a match officials room with air-conditioning, canteen and storage.

Rob Mustow (Mayor of Richmond Valley Council), Vaughan McDonald (GM Richmond Valley Council) and Club President Shane Hogan, joined FFNC General Manager Steve Mackney to officially open the facilities, with three senior matches on Saturday at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.
