The latest Delta variant COVID-19 outbreak in Greater Sydney is now threatening Regional NSW as positive cases have visited regional centres including Chinderah in Northern NSW.

NSW Health released an updated list of 'close contact' venues at 5:02pm, on that list was the Chinderah Truck Stop at 112 Tweed Valley Way, Chinderah. This is the Caltex service station for northbound traffic, see the map below.

Anyone who visited this truck stop last Tuesday, July 13 from 8:30pm until Wednesday, July 14 to 7:30am is asked to get a COVID test and isolate for 14 days regardless of the test result and call 1800 943 553 unless they have already been contacted by NSW Health.

The person involved visited the truck drivers toilets, showers and lounge and the food court.

This case in Northern NSW is on top of another case in Central West NSW in the last two days when three removalists from metropolitan Sydney travelled to Orange then Molongo (near Orange) while allegedly knowing they were COVID positive. The three men were issued Court Attendance Notices for not comply with noticed direction re section 7/8/9 – COVID-19.

Please check the NSW Government website regularly, as the list of venues of concern and relevant health advice are being updated as investigations continue.

Anyone with even the mildest of cold-like symptoms is urged to immediately come forward for testing and isolate until a negative result is received.
