Lismore is once again a focus in elite Baseball history. Currently, the 2024 Australian Junior League and Intermediate League Championships are being played at Albert Park. The finals are today, and the stakes are high - the winners get to play in the U.S.A.
Junior league champs will travel to the World Series in Taylor, Michigan in mid-August. The winner of Intermediate League will head to Livermore, California in late July.
Junior League
Yesterday, the semi-finals and 3 consolation matches were played. In the semis, Cronulla Black 14 defeated the Adelaide Marlins 4, and Brisbane North defeated Southern Hills Warriors.
The results of yesterday's Consolation matches:
Central Firebirds 10 def Adelaide Rays 6
Melbourne Athletics 15 def Melbourne Rangers 6
Manly Maroon 9 def Melbourne Rangers 4
This afternoon at 3pm, Cronulla Black will face Brisbane North for the chance to play at Michigan, USA. Adelaide Marlins will play the Southern Hills Warriors for third ranking. Note, this game has been moved forward from 5pm due to the forecast rain event moving through Lismore.
