Changed traffic conditions for the Alexandra Parade rail bridgeAlexandra Parade rail bridge in February 2024

The Alexandra Parade rail bridge was on Lismore City Council's agenda at Tuesday's council meeting, they are seeking the removal of it after the Union Street rail bridge is removed first.

Transport for NSW wants to remind motorists that the 3.5-metre clearance single lane at Alexandra Parade, North Lismore, remains closed following damage caused to the rail-over-road bridge by a vehicle impact earlier in the year.

From today (Friday, 13 December), Alexandra Parade will be open to a single-lane traffic flow for light vehicles under the 2.8-metre span, with a give-way for northbound traffic at the approach to the rail-over-road bridge.

Over-height vehicles will continue to use the existing signposted detour via Terania Street.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs.
