Next week there will be traffic delays due to essential maintenance work on Ballina Road and Dawson Street in Lismore from 6pm each night.
The Ballina Road work will start this Sunday, 21 May and will be carried out in two sections, the first between Dawson and Molesworth Streets and then between Brewster Street and Wyrallah Road.
This work is expected to be complete by the end of May, weather permitting.
Then, from next Thursday, 25 May Transport for NSW will carry out work to repair the road surface on Dawson Street between Zadoc and Brunswick Streets, with this work expected to be complete by early June, weather permitting.
To minimise the impact on motorists, all work will be carried out between 6pm and 6am.
Single lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during work hours for the safety of workers and motorists.
Temporary detours will also be in place as work progresses along Ballina Road and Dawson Street, including restrictions to the Leycester Street roundabout.
Motorists are advised to drive to these conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
