Celebrating our Local School Leaders

Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan today acknowledged Northern Rivers School Leaders for the important role they play in school life.

“It was great to have close to 300 students and parents here today,” Mr Hogan said.

“I would also like to thank my guest speaker Lyn Larsen AM who gave a very inspirational speech.”

“Lyn is a former NSW and Australian cricketer. She debuted for Australia on the tour of India in 1984, and 2 years later at 22, found herself named as Australian captain, the youngest ever at that time. Lyn went on to play 49 ODI’S for Australia, including captaining Australia to victory at the 1988 World Cup at the MCG, and 15 tests, 10 as captain.”

“Lyn’s contribution to the game of cricket has been recognised by being named a Member of the Order of Australia; induction into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1999; the NSW Hall of Champions in 2000; the Cricket NSW Hall of Fame in 2010, and the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in January 2024.”

"It is always an inspiring event to witness the passion and dedication of our young leaders."

“These students play an important role in the life of their school community and it’s important to recognise them and thank them.”
