As the Lismore CBD continues to rebuild, two massive projects will add to the reasons why people should shop and visit the CBD, Best & Less and the Lismore Workers Club.
The marine ply boards have been covering the Best & Less store for some time, but plenty of action has been going on inside as the national brand for clothing and household linen gets closer to reopening.
A spokesperson for Best & Less told the Lismore App local and out-of-town trades have been working to create a "whole new store, a total upgrade with improved navigation".
"It will be a new model with new registers, fixtures, fitting rooms and new lighting. The fit-out includes the rebuilding of the shop front and internal structural elements."
The company declined to comment on why it took this time to begin work on the rebuild.
As for when the store will reopen? That date will be revealed soon but is believed to be late August/early September.

The news from the General Manager of the Lismore Workers Club, Stephen Bortolin, is both good and bad.
The good news is we will see increased activity outside of the venue on Keen Street in August as the rebuild ramps up.
"We're doing some electrical work, stripping cables and rebuilding sub-boards at the moment," Stephen told the Lismore App.
The bad news is the opening has been delayed further due to building contractors and hygienists.
The updated timeline is for the doors to reopen in July 2024.
There is no further news as to what the downstairs plans will be apart from the entrance to guide you straight upstairs.
Stephen said, "We need to get this built first and see how much money we have left over."
