Can you imagine being barred from every pub?At the signing of the Liquor Accord agreement are: Superintendent Toby LINDSAY of the Richmond Police District, with presidents of the Liquor Accords Lou WILSON (Ballina), Peter Delaney (Lismore) and Neale Genge (Richmond Valley/Kyogle).

If you get barred from one licenced venue, you could find yourself barred from every one in the district.

Recently the Ballina, Lismore and Richmond Valley/Kyogle Liquor Accords have implemented a barred from one, barred from all policy in their Accords to deter violent and anti-social behaviour in their licensed premises.

Richmond District Police said this policy has been widely accepted in the community and has proven to be successful in making licensed premises a "safe and enjoyable venue for all the community".

"The success of this initiative has prompted the three Liquor Accords, which cover the Richmond Police District, to join in support of each other with the multi venue barring policy," a police statement said.

"As of December 10, 2019, behaviour that brings you under the attention of your Local Liquor Accord could result in you having to travel a bit further these holidays to enjoy a drink.

"For example if you get barred from Ballina this may also see you barred from Lismore, Casino, Evans Head, Kyogle - basically all towns that participate in the Liquor Accords in the Richmond Police District.

"The Richmond Police District strongly support initiatives in our Local Liquor Accords and encourage all licensed premises to become active in their Local Accord."
