The Byron Creek Bridge at Bangalow will remain closed over the long weekend as Council are still awaiting a report back from specialist structural engineers.

Sam Frumpui, Manager Works, said that he appreciated everyone’s patience. 

“We know this has been an inconvenience for everyone, but we thank everyone for their understanding. We hope to have the bridge open to light vehicles next week,” said Mr Frumpui. 

Another update will be provided next week.

The bridge was closed unexpectedly on Friday, 9 January, after a fire underneath the bridge.
