Byron Shire Council has announced that the first Council meeting of 2025 will be held tomorrow (Thursday, 13 February).

Byron council watchers take note…the starting times of Council’s Planning and Ordinary meetings have changed to 3pm.

The change comes after a decision made by Council in November last year.

Council decided to trial afternoon/evening meetings until July in recognition of the work commitments of some councillors.

Previously, Council’s Planning meetings started at 11am with the Ordinary meetings starting at 9am.

All meetings will now begin at 3pm, starting with public access and finish by 9pm.

Esmeralda Davis, Director Corporate and Community Services, said members of the public are most welcome.

“We are very fortunate that we have a community who is interested in and engaged in not only Council activities but our meetings as well and we look forward to seeing lots of people in our Mullumbimby Chambers at 3pm this Thursday,” Ms Davis said.

The agenda for this week’s Planning meeting is on Council’s website.
