Marist Brothers have made several changes to their side for the crucial local derby clash with Goonellabah Workers Sports on Saturday.

Brothers have boosted their experience with Luke Collings returning, Ashley Simes back after a brief "retirement", and big-hitting Israr ul Mabood all named this weekend.

They will be looking to turn their fortunes around after losing their last two matches to bottom-placed teams.

Shock losses to Pottsville and Casino have stunned Brothers, and they will be looking for a big lift for the local derby.

Brilliant young batsman, Cooper Williams, received the Cricketer of the Carnival Award for the Marist Schools Australia tournament held in Lismore this week, with the highlight being an unbeaten 202* in the opening match of the carnival.

Williams has been in great form this year, with Brothers hoping that continues.

Brothers will look to a solid batting performance from a dangerous line-up, with their bowling attack needing to take consistent wickets.

Goonellabah Workers Sports are also coming off a loss to Tweed Banora last week, after a strong win over reigning LJ Hooker League champions, the Cudgen Hornets.

Goonellabah were forced to make several changes last week, with several big names returning for the important clash with Brothers.
