Marist Brothers begin the new Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League draw with a Round 1 rematch against Casino RSM Cougars at Queen Elizabeth Park, Casino, tomorrow.

A try by full back Mitch Krause in the final minute saw Marist Brothers Rams come from behind to beat the Cougars in very heavy wet conditions last month.

Brothers coach Mark Sivewright will be hoping for a drier field to enable the players to show their talents. Second rower Josh Patston scored three tries, centre Isaac Lee and full-back Mitch Krause scored two tries each in the 52-0 rout of Byron Bay at Crozier Field last Sunday as the Rams showcased their ball running ability against opponents, severely weakened by the Queensland Government bubble.

With second row forward Lachlan Kennedy having the flu, Sivewright has replaced him with Isaac Lee.

"Isaac has played plenty of second row before and he loves the physicality in the forwards," said Sivewright.

Lee joins Josh Patston in the second row. Patston is Brothers' leading try scorer and has been very impressive in the abbreviated season.

The backline has been reshuffled with former Marist Brothers Junior Aden Hayward moving on to the wing and making his first starting appearance of the season. He replaces young Ethan Mumford, who is moving into the centres.

Sivewright was also very pleased with the debut of replacement Shaun Crewell, who has relocated for work from the NSW South Coast. Creswell played for Batemans Bay Tigers in the South Coast Group 7 competition.

"It's his first year at the club and a real talent. He scored a try on debut last week and a great bloke to have around the club," said Sivewright.

"He has a great kicking game and a very good support player."

Sivewright pointed out the quality of his bench players for tomorrow's First Grade match. His side is still missing the three players caught in the Queensland Government bubble - brothers Dane and Hugh Pratt and Max Elliott.

"Casino at home is a challenge. We will be ready," said Sivewright.
