BREAKING NEWS: Woodlawn school evacuates due to flood threat

12.30pm. Students at St John’s College Woodlawn are currently being evacuated due to a threat of flooding.

Lismore resident Dave Martin said he was on his way to Woodlawn to collect his children, after being told that all of Woodlawn was being evacuated. He said that children at the Woodlawn school were also being brought into Trinity Catholic College in Lismore.

The scene at Trinity Catholic College this afternoon as children head into the nearby church.

Parents of children at Trinity have been asked to collect their children if they are able to, due to the weather.

Parent Donna Mumford said she received an SMS message from Trinity a short while ago and was now at the school collecting her daughter.

“The SMS said ‘if you’re able to collect your child from Trinity Catholic College, please collect them at either site office. Supervision will be provided if unable to collect’,” Donna said.

“There’s a lot of cars here and it’s bucketing down with rain now,” she said.
