The latest long-term weather forecasting from the Bureau of Meteorology shows a 43% chance of a wetter than usual end to March (17 to 30 March), so there may be some wet days towards the end of the month.
The good news is 'unusually wet' is classified as greater than 134.8mm. If spread out, this should not be a problem for Lismore and the Northern Rivers.
So far this month, we have recorded 405.2mm with 280mm of that received in two days last week. The mean rainfall for the month of March is 181.4mm.
The likely scenario in terms of averages is for 'above median rainfall' (59.8mm) being 66%.
When looking at the rainfall for April, we could sum it up by saying "on the wetter side" as well.
The chance of 'above median rainfall', which is 131mm is 63%, while the chance of an 'unusually wet' April (greater than 278mm) is 31%.
May's unusually wet percentage falls to 20%.
In the short term, we will be enjoying plenty of sunshine with mostly sunny and sunny the forecast for the weekend with maximums of 28 and 29 degrees.
