Boiled water alert lifted in Nimbin

After careful monitoring of the Nimbin water supply, residents of Nimbin are advised that the water is safe to drink again.

Lismore City Council said in a statement today that Council has fixed the problem and the boiled water alert has been lifted.

The Lismore App reported last week that the pipeline between Mulgum Creek and DE Williams Dam had become contaminated with sediment and residents needed to boil water if they were connected to the dam and weir water supply.

The alert did not apply to households connected to the town water supply.
