A quiet weekend awaits FNC Rugby Union teams as the Kings Birthday Long Weekend arrives, just in time for the grounds to dry out.

Last weekend's results proved fairly ugly for two clubs, with Lennox Head going down to Wollongbar Alstonville 90-7 and Ballina dominating Lismore 86-21, after leading 40-7 at halftime.

The third match was a cliffhanger, with Casuarina eventually taking the points over Byron Shire 35-33.

Next weekend the Lismore club will host the Byron Shire Rebels in what should be a big day of rugby, with Colts playing Mullumbimby from 11:30am and all four grades playing on the day.
