Why not referee in 2023? Take up a whistle and earn extra cash and help out a local football club.

Northern NSW Football and Football Far North Coast are supporting a Level 4 Referee Course at Saunders Oval Ballina on Monday 23 January.

There is no cost to participants, with Football Far North Coast covering the cost of the course for participants.

The Level 4 Referee Course program's practical emphasis complements the FFA online Laws of the Game Course and is aimed at match officials officiating on community and premier competition football.

The Level 4 Referee program is a combination of classroom sessions and practical mentoring. Participants must be 13 years of age at the start of the training program.

At the completion of the course, participants will receive:

- Level 4 Referee Course

- Laws of the Game Book

- Professional Referee Whistle

- Assistant Referee Flag

- First Year Referee Green Shirt

- Umbro Match Official Shorts

- Set of Red and Yellow Cards
