Australia Post has opened a brand-new, purpose-built parcel facility in Ballina, representing a significant investment in regional NSW ahead of the busy holiday season.

Replacing the former parcels delivery site, the new facility is designed to boost parcel processing capability and improve service for the local community.

Key Features:

  • Improved capacity to handle more than 1,200 parcels per day, and up to 1,900 parcels per day in peak periods like Christmas, supporting continued growth in parcel volumes in the region.
  • Spacious 858m² layout, featuring eight dedicated van bays and a larger warehouse space for storage and efficient truck unloading and parcel sorting.

"With eCommerce and online shopping continuing to surge—especially as we head into cyber sales and Christmas—this new site gives us the capacity we need to keep pace with demand and deliver on time for our customers.

"This purpose-built facility not only improves efficiency but also provides a safer working environment for our team members ahead of the busy season,” said Shane Plant, Australia Post General Manager Network Development & Support Services.

Australia Post says the new facility reflects a broader commitment to improving services and delivery speed for regional communities, while supporting parcel volume growth during the busiest time of year.
