Avoiding a pain in the bust, head to Cherie's as she reopensCherie's Lingerie in Woodlark Street.

Sheree McDonald has been providing bra-fitting to Lismore women for the past 13 years and after a 6-month delay, she is back doing what she does best fitting bras to the women of Lismore in the CBD.

Sheree was without a shop front as she waited for booked-out tradies to refit her new shop but she was luckier than most as she saved all her stock although her displays, walls and even the ceilings had to be completely stripped and rebuilt after the floods.

Sheree told The Lismore App "I have smaller things which are easy to pack up, so I was packed up in a few hours and out of the CBD, safe and dry, and have a plan to be able to do so again when another flood warning comes through."

"I wasn't waiting to get back into my home, so while it was a long wait, I was aware that people were displaced from their homes, and that should be the priority," Sheree added.

Building Back Better has been the motto for Lismore as building owners look at how to make their premises more flood resilient.

"I wanted to refit the shop to be more flood resilient, such as the great fit-out at Ongmac, which looks fantastic," Sheree added.

But with such a wait on tradies and the difficulty getting materials, Sheree opted for re-opening rather than resilience, especially given the constraints she had around building regulations for fire exits, which meant she still couldn't have had the finishes she would have liked, making it even easier to recover next time around.

Sheree is offering much more than just a Women's lingerie shop, she offers a caring experience and really wants women and teens to be wearing bras that suit their needs, and are comfortable and supportive.

Sheree says women and teens should come in every 6 months for a proper fitting to ensure both comfort and better health outcomes, as ill-fitting bras are more than just a pain in the bust!

"Women can come in, even if they aren't wanting to buy anything, to be properly fitted or have their bras adjusted to ensure they are fitting appropriately. We have a large range to suit a wide array of sizes, from small to larger cup sizes."

Sheree says that while teens may feel a bit nervous or embarrassed, they are fitted with dignity and privacy, and don't need to be naked or anything of that nature, but it's very important to be fitted and aware of what a properly fitting bra can and should feel like, to save them a potential lifetime of discomfort and bruising, as Sheree says "some of her clients over the years, who have come in during mid to later life have expressed, it's more common than you would think!"

There is even an eco-friendly, beautiful range which are made of recycled materials, and in fashionable, colours, alongside a display of what Sheree says "is a new range in self-care products", from flowers and nourishing bath salts to candles and aromatherapy rollers.

With full displays Sheree has some sleepwear, slips, bra's and underwear in all styles, lingerie and says "If I don't have something, I can always get it in for my customers, and I'm happy to stay open for ladies if they can't get here for any reason, like if they work etc."

"I decided it was time for a change, so we are now Cherie's Lingerie". A change of brand from the former name "Jeanettes Lingerie".

You can find the bra for you, or your loved one between 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday or 9am - 12pm on Saturdays, or by appointment.

You will find Cherie's Lingerie at 9 Woodlark Street in the CBD.
