Australia Day celebrations turn sour as a swing rope snaps at Terania Creek

A 40 year old man has had his Australia Day celebrations soured when the rope he was swinging on snapped.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by New South Wales Ambulance at 5:10pm this afternoon to Terania Creek to a report of a person injured while swinging from a tree into the water.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team have treated and stabilised the man for head and shoulder injuries after the swing rope snapped causing him to land heavily onto the rocks.

The gentleman has since been airlifted to Lismore Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
