Ethan Allen and Jayden Scutt have helped Richmond Rovers to a 2-2 draw with Byron Bay in Football Far North Coast Men's Premier League.
The match was always going to be a tight affair, with Byron Bay sitting in second and Rovers in third on the ladder behind leaders Bangalow.
Whenever the two teams clash there is always plenty of feeling, and Saturday's match was no different, with four yellow cards handed out.
But it was Scutt and Allen who provided the spark for the home side, with Byron's Jeff Sykes scoring both of Byron's goals.
The points helped both teams after Bangalow were upset by Alstonville on Saturday afternoon 2-1. The loss was the Bluedogs first for the season.
On Friday night, Lennox Head and Maclean had a high scoring 3-3 draw and in another upset, the previously winless Mullumbimby Brunswick Valley defeated Goonellabah 2-1 on Sunday.
There were several lopsided matches in the Women's Premier League with Bangalow defeating Alstonville 2 5-0, Maclean smashed Goonellabah 11-1, Byron Bay 1 overcame Dunoon United 7-1 and Alstonville 1 kept their place at the top of the ladder, defeating Ballina 6-0.
In the closest match of the round, Lennox Head 1 had a narrow victory over Rovers 1-0, to keep the top three teams close on the table.
