A man who stole a vehicle from Evans Head was arrested by police and faced Lismore Court yesterday.

The 35 year old man was charged with Take and Drive motor vehicle, Be carried in Motor Vehicle, Steal from dwelling and Disqualified driving.

Richmond District Police will allege that on the April 6, the accused man entered a private residence in Evans Head, where he stole car keys and a motor vehicle parked in the garage.

He was sighted by Police driving the stolen vehicle a short time later and decamped on foot after dumping the car in nearby bushland.

Police located the accused man's personal property in the stolen vehicle.

The man was arrested by officers attached to Richmond Police Target Action Group in Dunoon.

He was conveyed to Lismore Police Station where he was charged with multiple offences, execution of his warrant and bail refused.
