Aldi Goonellabah to get $1.4 million refurbishment Aldi Goonellabah

Aldi Goonellabah will get a $1.39 million refurbishment in 5 days time that will bring it up to the standard of the Lismore CBD store.

Marianne McKenzie from Aldi said the store will remain the same size but the refit will include the removal of the old yellow tiled floor, replacing it with exposed concrete as well as plywood lining and vinyl tile and more efficient lighting. You only need to look at the two pictures to see the difference. The Lismore CBD store refurbishment was complete in 2019 as Aldi began a national rollout in 2017.

"The Goonellabah store was built in 2014 so after 7-years it needs a refresh," Marianne said.

The re-opening is scheduled for Saturday July 17, given no delays, but there is some bad news for Aldi shoppers during the refit time frame.

"We will need to close the Goonellabah store for approximately two weeks, Marianne added, "We can't give you the exact dates because of the uncertainty of the process. Plenty of notice will be given to our shoppers."

The outside will also get a small refresh with more glazing and new finishes.
