A massive day of rugby is set for Round 8 in the FNC Rugby Union competition.

Ladder leaders Ballina will host the Wollongbar Alstonville Pioneers, it what will be one of the clashes of the season.

Both sides have been in strong form to start the season, and along with Byron Shire, are set to fight out the Minor Premiership as the season progresses.

Lismore will host the Casino Bulls at Lismore Rugby Park, with First Grade match starting at 3:15pm.

All four grades will be in action, with Colts kicking off at 11:50am against a combined Wollongbar Alstonville/Ballina side.

Reserve Grade will follow at 1:00pm against the Bulls, the Women will take the field looking for another win at 2:20pm, with First Grade to finish the day.

The club is hosting an Old Boys Day to celebrate the 2004 Premiership team, with club veteran Gavin Tulk, the only player to play in the 2004 Grand Final, and still be running around this season in Reserve Grade.

The SCU Gold Rats will travel east to Lennox Head to take on the Trojans in a match where they are looking to turn their season around.

The Rats have named a strong side for the clash and will look for a better defensive effort.
