A busy time awaits for Football FNC teams

A busy week lies ahead for Football FNC Men's Premier League teams, as the midweek catch up games are added to the calendar.

With a long period of wet weather and frustrations for both clubs and organisers, it appears that grounds were starting to dry out before this weekend's return of the wet weather.

Six Premier League matches are scheduled between Friday and Wednesday this week, with the hope that more can be played either side of the June Long Weekend.

Locally, Friday night saw Richmond Rovers host South Lismore in a wet and cold clash in East Lismore and on Sunday, Goonellabah will travel to Ballina at 2:30pm.

Alstonville will have a tight turnaround with a match against Maclean on Saturday in Maclean, before then heading down the hill to Ballina to play the hosts on Tuesday night at Saunders Oval at 8:00pm.

In other catch up games, Rovers will host Bangalow in what should be a physical match up in East Lismore on Tuesday 10 June and South Lismore will head to Mullumbimby on Wednesday 11 June for a match against MBVFC.

Last weekend saw South Lismore upset Byron 1-0, Alstonville defeated Bangalow 2-0 and the local clash between Goonellabah and Rovers was postponed.

In Women's Premier League, the draw is in a similar position, with a local derby between Richmond Rovers and South Lismore on Sunday at 2:30pm, before both teams play a mid week catch up on Wednesday 11 June when Rovers head to Lennox Head and Sout Lismore host Alstonville.

It is difficult to get a strong indication on teams form at this point of time in the season, with the Women's Premier League ladder varying between one and five completed matches for teams and the Men's Premier League ladder in a similar position.
