A big weekend of basketball for the Lismore Storm

It is a huge weekend of basketball for the Lismore Basketball Association, with action cross the North Coast.

The Men's and Women's Sunshine Conference teams will suit up for matches on Saturday evening against the Ballina Breakers in Ballina.

The Women's team go into their second match of the season with an overtime win against the Byron Beez and will look to post a big score against the Breakers.

The Men's team will look to return to the winners list after a big first round win over Grafton and a loss to Byron.

The Men will welcome back the return of Jordon Pethers who will share the scoring workload with youngsters Elwood Bird and Kaleb Jeffery and the solid veteran Scott Amor.

In other Sunshine Conference matches the Byron Beez Men will host the Grafton Vikings at the Cavanbah Centre at 2pm on Saturday.

The action doesn't stop with the Sunshine Conference, with the Lismore Association hosting the North Coast Shield Junior Competition across the weekend.

The U/12 Division for Boys and Girls will play on Saturday with the U/18 Boys taking the court on Sunday.

The U/12's girls will travel from as far away as Murwillumbah and Coffs Harbour and the Boys competition will see six teams from Murwillumbah to Yamba contest Round 1.

The U/18 Boys competition sees eight teams from Byron Bay to Bellingen Valley compete from 9:00am until 4:30pm on Sunday at the Keen Street Stadium.
