The Lismore Rugby Union Club kicked off their preseason training this week and it included a new look coaching panel for the 2026 season.
In 2026, the Colts will be led by Stephen Paisley, a long-time Lismore Rugby clubman, who has been coaching the group since U/7’s.
He will be assisted by Damien Bebb and Liam McQuilty. Both excellent clubmen, they have also been coaching junior sides in recent years.
The Ladies squad will transition to the 15-a-side competition, a wonderful initiative by FNC Rugby Union this season.
The ladies will be led by Nicholie Williams, who takes on the lead role after years of helping on the sidelines. Williams has a strong connection with the team, and the club is excited to have her on board, leading the charge.
Williams will be assisted by Paul Jeffery, who returns to the club after a number of coaching stints, both on the Far North Coast and the Gold Coast.
Jeffery has won First Grade Premierships with Lennox Head and Wollongbar, coached FNC representative sides, and most recently completed a stint with Kyogle rugby league.
Mitchell Mowle will step into the Team Manager role, and John Lisetto will continue his close association with the team as Women’s Player and Coach Rep.
The First Grade side will be led by Rodney Pita, who enters his second year as head coach.
Pita will be assisted by a committed team, including skills coach Ed Rummery; strength and conditioning will be overseen by Craig Whitby and Sam Gillett; and Nick Allen and Dan Mitchell will look after team management.
Cody Johnston has taken on the role of Player and Coach Rep for the senior men's teams.
The club commenced preseason training last week and are looking forward to a big 2026 season.
