East Lismore residents had an eventful Friday night with police car sirens and an eventual crash into a power pole out the front of Northern Air.


NSW Police said, "About 11.55pm last night (Friday 5 July 2024) officers attached to Richmond Police District attempted to stop a Subaru station wagon on Conway Street, Lismore, for the purposes of a random breath test. 



"When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.


"A short time later, the vehicle crashed into a pole at Dalley Street, Lismore, and three people were seen leaving the scene on foot.



"Following a foot pursuit, police arrested a 13-year-old boy.


"He was taken to Lismore Police Station, where he was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.


"He was granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Thursday, 1 August 2024.



"Following inquiries, police will allege the vehicle was stolen from an address on Henson Lane, Yamba, about 5pm on Friday (5 July 2024).


"As inquiries are ongoing, anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
