It will be a wet Sunday for Lismore and the Northern Rivers, and outdoor activities will be curtailed in the middle of the school holidays. Rollerworld in North Lismore is open to keep the kids amused.
Families who love riding their pushbikes will be happy to learn that the Lismore to Bentley Rail Trail is on track for unveiling towards the end of 2024.
The Casino to Bentley leg, running 13.4 km, was open to the public on March 23, while the Lismore to Bentley leg will be 16.3km. That is nearly 30km of family fun.
Lismore City Council said that 10km of the track is already completed and two-thirds of the gravel has been laid. "We're well on our way to connecting to Bentley," council said.
At the Lismore Railway Station, the transformation of the old rail tracks has commenced, and construction progress continues where deviations are required to improve user safety and accessibility.
