Your opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking a passionate Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Foundations (Veterinary Anatomy & Physiology).

You will help shape our new veterinary program by creating engaging, clinically connected learning experiences.

Your veterinary expertise, fresh ideas and collaborative approach will play a key role in building our anatomy and physiology curriculum and advancing our teaching and scholarship initiatives.

You will make an impact by:

  • Designing and delivering clinically relevant anatomy and physiology curricula, contributing to unit development, coordination and continuous improvement across the BVetMed and BVetTech programs.
  • Creating engaging, active learning experiences such as case-based tutorials, practical labs, simulations and digital learning supported by high-quality, standards-aligned assessments and feedback.
  • Advancing teaching innovation and scholarship, producing SoLT or discipline-based research outputs and contributing to accreditation, quality assurance and communities of practice.
  • Building strong professional and industry partnerships, collaborating with academic teams, clinical partners, and external stakeholders to enrich student learning and support the establishment of the Veterinary Anatomy & Physiology discipline.

You value collaboration, innovation and the chance to shape a cutting-edge veterinary program from the ground up.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

  • A degree in veterinary science/medicine, and preferably advanced qualifications (e.g. PhD) and/or experience relevant to Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology. Formal qualifications in higher education teaching would also be viewed favourably.
  • Clinical experience and the ability to teach foundational veterinary anatomy and physiology in ways that connect theory to real practice.
  • Demonstrated capability to design engaging curricula, assessments and learning resources, aligned to veterinary accreditation standards.
