We are looking for an experienced Cook with prior experience in a Childcare Centre Kitchen (preferred) to join the team at 

Blinky's Corner Child Care Centre to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 71 children each day.  

This is an autonomous role where you will be responsible for the full daily function of our Kitchen which includes a commercial dishwasher.

This role is Part-Time working 26 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7.30am-12.30pm & Friday 7am-1.30pm.

About Us

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

Our menus meet nutritional guidelines and are high-quality, allowing young bodies to thrive both mentally and physically.  

We provide morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.

The menu is a mixture of hot dishes as well as sandwiches, wraps, salads.

We run on a 4-week rotating menu for 3 months and then change it up.

The centre is situated in a residential/commercial area – 3 local high schools nearby. 

Local bus company across the road so public transport available in the area.

Nearest café/shops are around 2kms down the road in the Wyrallah Road shopping centre.

The main shopping centre is located about a 5-7 min drive from the centre.

Beaches are a 30min drive from the centre.

Our team are all long term employees & are friendly, approachable, and happy to welcome on board new staff to join our team.

At capacity our Centre caters for up to 71 children with operating hours from 6:30am to 6:30pm.

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements. 
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children’s Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
