The Greens: Shae Salmon

The Greens: Shae Salmon

I have lived in our Lismore area for over 40 years and there’s no place I’d rather live. We have heart and soul, and have pulled together to survive disasters more than once. Our region is so diverse – we offer beautiful hinterland and forests, which we must protect, a vibrant cultural hub, and our business sector is really beginning to thrive again.

Life for me in our area has included working as an academic at SCU, volunteering with Friends of the Koala and being involved in community and cultural activities such as the Lantern Parade and with the Lismore Theatre company. Presenting my music show on Fridays at our local community radio

River FM has been part of my life for going on 4 years now. I just love being out and about in Lismore and the villages, especially on market days, and always make a point of shopping locally, supporting our businesses.

After having attended Lismore Council meetings for many years, I decided I wanted to be a part of the decision making for our area. I feel it is important to be informed and involved in the local decisions made which affect our lives and the environment we share. Sensible and ecologically sound development which focuses on outcomes that support and nourish our wonderful community is essential.

Get involved, find out who your Council Candidates are, and learn about them and the values they believe in. It is after all your Council.
